Love’s Surprises

I was walking alone,

When you caught me by surprise.

You called my attention,

And sat me for a prize.

Held my tired hands,

And gave them a soft touch;

Curing me of the weariness,

That I held somehow.

 I glanced at your face,

And saw smiling eyes;

Looking down at me,

Easing my plight.

Slowly calming me,

Helping me see,

The beauty around me;

And the fragrance that hides.

As you looked into my eyes,

On that lovely day,

You helped me smell the scents,

Of your warm heart.

Showing me a world,

Filled with charm;

And love’s surprises,

Of magical wonders.
