What To Do When We Feel Fear?

Some people experience fear more than others because of what is going on in their own personal lives or what is going on around the world. Humans have different ways of expressing fear. When fear is felt some think they are angry or frustrated. But what is actually happening is that this person is probably reacting to the fear and his or her reaction is through anger and frustration. Sometimes scared people don't even act scared but a little bit crazy or controlling.

Some avoid fear and act like it is no big deal. Some push it down and resist it but it pops up when you least expect it. Some people are even immobilized because of it and some are obsessed over it.

There ways that can help us manage our fears and turn this fearful energy into something useful for us.

When you are feeling fear, awareness of the fear is very important. Process your fear compassionately. Hear yourself compassionately either you're experiencing an intense amount of fear or something lesser. Pay attention to what is going on in your brain to uncover anything that may be causing the fear. Don't judge or put yourself down.

Sit down and accept that you are scared and tell yourself that "it's okay".  Accept that it is just a feeling in our body but it does not mean that you in real danger.

Breath in and allow the fear to vibrate in the body. Some might cry, others might shake and sometimes it might be subtle for some or intense for others. Processing fear and allowing it to be there may not be the same for everyone. Some might try to downplay it or push it away. Some try to take a deep breath and move on to be tough about it.

Welcome the fear and allow it to be there. However, always tell yourself that it is just a vibration, an emotion in your body and that it is okay to feel afraid. It simply means that you are a human being experiencing an emotion.

Ask yourself about the three main thoughts that scare you. Acknowledge what you are afraid of and do not dismiss them. Write them down and listen to your own thoughts. And then, separate the facts from the thoughts. You cannot control facts but you can control what is going on inside your mind. Look at your thoughts and notice any future errors. This is still part of processing fear. Once you are comfortable experiencing fear and stop being afraid, you are automatically relieved of some of the fear.

Practice peace. Meditation can help ease fear when you feel it. It is like the two emotions are co-existing in the process.

When you feel that you are okay, even in the presence of fear, you might feel that you have extra energy. It may feel like anxiety, unused fear, or adrenaline. Utilize this energy to create something and produce something out of it.

Channel the energy into work. Take this collective fear energy after it has been processed and put it into something productive. Get work done and get a sense of relief from the anxious energy.

Focus and channel your fear and anxiety to producing something that can serve not just the world but ourselves. Use your mental energy to work and transform this fear energy into something that helps than harms.

Always remember that scary things are never going to be over. This is part of life.

Have a lovely day or night

How To Care For Family Members Or Relatives Who Have Mental Health Problems or Have Some Kind Of Psychosocial Disability

Sometimes we are faced with a very challenging issue that may not be looked on favourably by our communities and societies. Mental health problems or psychosocial disabilities are some of the more complicated issues that our growing population and societies are now facing. Families are now faced with these challenging problems that may afflict a family member or a close relative.

Having a family member with a mental health issue or psychosocial disability is challenging. Dealing with the issue depends on the kind of mental health issue that the family member is facing. Parents, carers and other people who are tasked to help the patient needs some understanding and help as well in caring for these individuals. Reading, research and study of the matter is necessary to have a wider understanding of the mental health issue that their family member has.

The ability to listen to the family member afflicted with the mental health problem is a very important part of the caring process. Listening to non-verbal as well as verbal cues from the patient is very important for the family members and carers for them to know what to do. Listening to what they have to say and what they feel will also help them voice out things that they may be keeping to themselves and feel that they need help with.

Observing and keeping up with the activities of the family member with the health issue should also be a good source of adjusting the caring strategies that you employ in the caring process. By observation, you will be able to see what makes them happy, sad, joyful, excited, disturbed or confident. If you are able to see what makes the patient tick or feel down, you will be able to make adjustments to routines and rituals you may have at home as you care for them.

If they have medication, make sure that they take them on time and in the right dosage. These medications are given to them by their doctors for various issues like managing their mental processes and regulate the chemical imbalance in their brains if they were diagnosed with such. It is important for them to take these medications, otherwise, it could endanger their health or may cause seizures, paralysis or even death, if the medications are not taken when necessary.

If they need to see the doctor, offer to be there with them on their consultation. Having someone else to listen to what the doctor has to say is also very good for their well being. It will show them your support and your willingness to understand their condition. It will also show them that you are willing to learn how you can do a better job at caring for them.

Let them know that you are always there for them and that you love and care for them no matter what. The simple things of preparing a meal for them, chatting with them about things that they need help with, or counselling them with matters that they are struggling with can go a long way in their journey through life. It will definitely be something that they would love to do with you as they go about each day.

Attempt to teach them a new skill that they can use in life. This includes teaching them to cook a particular recipe that they love to eat. Or, doing simple chores that help them care for the home if they are staying here. It may take some time for them to perfect these things but be more patient with them. Remind them if they forget to do the task, provide feedback about their work and try not to raise your voice too much when talking to them.

Do not be too controlling and let them make decisions on their own but carefully advise and explain to them why there are things that they should not do and cannot do. People with psychosocial disability may easily feel hurt, like other sensitive individuals. However, by careful explanation of your comments, suggestions and advice, they may be able to understand the reasons why it is important for them to adhere to what their doctors tell them and why you may not approve of some of their decisions.

Caring for a family member who may be having problems with mental health and psychosocial disability is indeed a challenge. But with patience, perseverance and determination to help and make them assimilate in this ever-changing society will go a long way in helping them care for themselves and make them become productive members of our communities.

Have a lovely day or night.

How To Express Gratitude To The Seniors or Elders In Your Life

The seniors in our lives have likely helped us in our growth and development as a person. They have likely contributed to our well-being and have provided for us in our early life. Thus, they should be thanked for their good deeds and simple ways that can help us express our thanks for all of these things that they have brought to our lives.

Express your love and gratitude by giving them warm hugs. Hugs help us express our love for them and how much we care for them. Do this whenever possible.

Send them a card or letters that tell them how much you love and care for them or how much you miss them. A simple letter can help them know how you feel and how much you long for their company when you are away from them.

If you live far from them, call or visit them whenever you have the time. Keeping in touch with your loved ones will definitely help them have a lovely day and know that you are thinking of them. It will also help them have a chat with you about things that they would like to talk to you about.

Cook for them when you are at their place. Cook a meal that will satisfy them and something that they enjoy. It is not often that you do this but if you can do this for them every day, it would definitely be a good deed that they will greatly appreciate.

Take them to places that they have never been to but they want to go to. If you can do this, they will surely enjoy the time with you. You can make beautiful memories together in that place and have fun at the same time.

Clean for them when you have the time. Cleaning is probably last on their list of things to do, so if you can do this for them, they will greatly be happy about it.

Help them out at home or be of service to them. Giving them a hand on things that they have to do, will be of great help to seniors who are having a hard time doing daily chores. Helping around the house, doing chores and groceries for them will definitely be appreciated.

Have simple conversations with them whenever you have the time to do so. Conversations about pleasant things and those that reminisce beautiful memories together will definitely be something that they would love to talk about. It will make them smile or laugh or both.

Enjoy the time that you have with the seniors in your life. Each moment, day and month counts.

How To Keep In Touch And Express Our Love And Care To People We Love Who Are Far From Us

Today, keeping in touch with the people we love who are far from us is a lot easier with the new technologies that the world has. Video calls may be made with various online applications and phone calls can be made from distant places.

If you want to express your love and care, you can also, send letters on email or e-cards to the people whom you miss and dearly love. You can send them pre-recorded video messages if you want them to see the expression on your face and if you want to show them things that you have seen on your travels.

If you want to speak to them in real-time, you can also use online messenger applications available in your country and talk to them. You can try to see how they are, whenever you have the time to come together for a long-distance real-time video call.

You may also send your loved ones, gifts that you have purchased online and send them to them if you want to surprise them with something that they have always wanted to have. This is something special for young ones and teens. They like being surprised with gifts that they have been wanting to have and have expressed the thought to you. A surprise gift from you will always be welcomed with joy and enthusiasm.

Send them a birthday greeting on social media that you both are members of.  A simple birthday greeting will let them know that you are thinking of them on your special day. You may not be able to be there for them on that day or have an extravagant gift for them, but the thought of remembering their birthday is something good as well.

Send them greetings on special days that you or they celebrate. Christmas, new year, or other special days are also good to celebrate with your loved ones. And they surely will be grateful for the messages that you will send them online.

Send them text messages on their mobile if you have their number. Short text messages that wish them a good day or night will help them know that you wish them well on their day. A simple good day or good night can make your loved one feel loved as you make the effort to wish them well on another day in their life.

You may also try the old fashioned snail mail for postcards or notes that you want to send them. If you want to do this, this will give them an old fashioned style of communication that they probably miss. Old snail mail does not go out of fashion still. Some even prefer it to modern-day communication.

Use emoticons and other cool animations on messengers. This will give your messages more colour and make them more interesting to the eye. Creativity in your messages makes things really more pleasing or funny to the eyes. And the effort put into it will truly be appreciated.

Keeping in touch with our loved ones who are away from home is a good way of connecting with them to see how they are, say hi or let them know that you are genuinely concerned and love them. You might not be able to do it every day, but you can always do it whenever you have the time to do so. Surely, your messages will be greatly appreciated.

Have a lovely day or night.

What Are The Benefits and Disadvantages of Cohabitation

Cohabitation is a very important element of having a fulfilling life for some people. Cohabitation helps you live with the people you love and the people who matter most in your life. Living closely with your family or loved ones can be one of the most fulfilling life you can have in this world as you enjoy each other's company as each day pass.

Living with other people helps you learn more about the people you love or your family. It helps you gain a wider understanding of their quirks, needs and wants. It also helps you be more sensitive to the things that they want in life and help you explain to them why they cannot have what they want.

Cohabitation helps you learn more about the attitudes and personalities of the people you are cohabiting with. Sometimes there may be clashes in your personalities and goals but, these will help you understand each other and perhaps gain a wider understanding of the dreams of the people you are cohabiting with. You may not always get the support of the people you are cohibiting with but, you will always have their presence for other things that you might need help with.

Cohabiting can help you understand the human nature behind the words family, love and home. As humans, we were made to live in families where we have to play some role like helping out with the chores or finances if you are already earning your keep. Or, be a source of wisdom before making any decisions, especially from the elderly members of the family. Some can provide emotional and other forms of support for the cohabiting members.

It will not let you be isolated from the world. You always have someone to come home to at the end of the day. Someone is waiting for you to let you in the home and perhaps have a listening ear for you when you most need it. Cohabitation can help in the daily grind of life and make things a little lighter to bear than when you live alone.

Cohabitation can help break the loneliness you feel in your life and make it more colourful with the people you cohabit with. They may make you feel happier, more joyful and fulfilled as a person. Be ready for a little bit more rowdy home if there are young ones with you, but it can make each day a little be more exciting and fulfilling.

Have a lovely evening or day.
