Tips When Travelling and Doing Business
Read about the place that you are travelling to. Have a map ready or use Google Maps to know exactly where the place you intend to go to. If you have Waze on your mobile phone, you can use that, too. Or, you can hire a tour guide to get to your destination if you are not so confident about the location of where you want to go to. A tour guide can also help you get to food places where you can eat some of the native food and dishes or where the locals go to. However, you also need to pay the tour guide for his or her services. If you are going somewhere where the language is different, a translator can also help out. Most tour guides might be fluent in some of these local languages to help you talk with the locals.
Take public transport, hire a car, motorbike or vehicle that can get you to your destination. If your destination is not very far like only a few meters away (or kilometres, if you are young and still strong), you can choose to walk and get that bit of exercise for your legs which can get the blood circulating on your body. This will also help you save on transportation cost. Pause to walk to your destination if you do get tired. But if you do really feel tired, rest for a while in a place where it could be safe. Be with your teammates, so that everybody is together.
Watch out for your belongings, especially your identification cards and valuables. Bring the things that you only need. If you are bringing something precious with you, make sure that you account for them and that everything or everybody is safe, so that you can get to your destination. Follow rules in travelling at the locality, otherwise, you might be penalized because travel rules change from time to time.
If you are touring, be also aware of the rules and regulations of the place that you are going to. If they say that you should wear masks when you are going to a place, then do so, otherwise, they will penalize you and you will have to pay a certain amount of money which might hurt your budget.
If you take something from the place where you are going, make sure to bring the cash that you need to pay for it. If not, you would have to face time in jail for taking the consumer goods that were not paid for or it will be sequestered by the officials who were entrusted to do so.
Some Tips When Doing Business While On Travel
If you are on a business trip, and bringing valuable goods with you, make sure that the goods that you are bringing were allowed by the government of the country, state, province or town that you are bringing them to. This is important, otherwise, they will only be confiscated at ports. Make arrangements with the officials that you are talking to on how these shipments will be paid. If you are transporting illegal goods, you might get into trouble and end up in jail.
If travelling and trading locally, make sure to secure your business permit so that you can continue with your business in the locality that you are selling to. Permits, licenses to drive, to fish, sometimes even to hunt and to do business are necessary so that you will not get into trouble with the authorities.
If you decide to do business and stay in the place where you decide to go to, make sure that you have the documents that you need to stay in that locality. Get your residency permits, work permits, business permits and other permits necessary to not keep staying in the place that you intend to work at or live in. Taxes should also be paid when doing business. If you have employees, you also need to pay for their wages and their Social Security benefits. Or, give them the amount that they need, in order for them to pay for their own.
Make sure that everyone on board the vehicle that you are using to get to the destination that you are headed for is alright. Once you reach your destination, make sure that they are doing their part in the business that they are working on. They should do their share of the work that they should do, otherwise, the business will not work as it should. Give the team a break, if they need it. Especially if the job or work to be done involves a lot of lifting heavy loads and carrying heavy bags. Humans get tired as well and may not be able to lift heavy loads without any break. Lifting heavy loads can put a strain on the joints and the muscles. So, remind your staff to get some rest after a hard day's work.
Encourage the team to work as needed, otherwise, your business will also fall apart. Give them time off if they are very tired. Some vacation or some relaxation, otherwise, you will lose your team and they will not perform well in the job that they need to do. Most of the time, workers have families, they have to juggle taking care of their children and keeping everybody in the home cared for. If you have someone you can trust to take care of the children, then you can make them help out to care for them. If not, take the children to a close relative to help care for them.
You should also be able to care for your employees as well if you are travelling on business with them, otherwise, your business will simply fall apart. Explain to them the status of the business at the moment if you are having problems at the moment. Give them perks needed, so that they can have what they need to keep the business going. Otherwise, let them know if they are going to have to get a pay cut if the business is not doing well at the moment. Keeping the team working together will make them keep going if they are happy with their job. If your staff have other plans in their mind and decide to pursue something else, then you need to get someone else to do the job. Be also cautious, about hiring the staff that you hire, make sure that you can trust them.
Have a happy day.
