If you need to be mentally and physically awake, you need to always be awake and not dizzy or nauseous as you work. Otherwise, you will not be able to accomplish the tasks that you need to do. Being awake when you are working actively will make you feel better about accomplishing the tasks that you have to do. Otherwise, you will not be able to do them properly. 

Being physically awake will help you do things that you have to do. It also gives you the chance to do more things that you need to accomplish but you will definitely get tired. Once you are, get the rest that you need to recuperate from the tiredness.

Be cautious of what you drink as well. Drink water that is really good for the health is necessary, otherwise, you might be putting your health at great risk. Try not to drink liquids that may have hallucinogens. These drinks can cause you to, hallucinate and may become a problem for you.

Some medications may not be very good for people who need to be active the whole day. However, they also need enough rest and sleep for them to be able to do these things by having good health. There is a need to take sleeping medication if you really cannot sleep, according to doctors. However, these sleeping medications may make your mind function not so well, at times, and can cause dizziness or a sort of a cloudy head which may not be good for people who need to do physical activities that require precise movements. Sleeping medication that can make you fall asleep may not be good for people who have to do activities that require active and precise work. However, if the insomnia is really terrible, and you really need some sleep to recuperate from sleepless nights, have to do work the next day or days to come, then you'd have to take them to get back to work for the next day or the next week, then you have to take them. You need to be cautious of your movements so as not to hurt yourself and try to concentrate as best as you could.

Withdrawal from some neurological medications can hamper the thought process, and make you feel confused at certain times. So be cautious. Some can heighten sensitivity and extrasensory perception. 

Coffee is helpful in keeping you awake but it can cause psychotic episodes once taken in large doses. The use of large doses of coffee can cause psychosis and irritability for some people who are not very tolerant of this concoction. Some drinks with high sugar content can also possibly cause changes in the mood of a person, especially if their body is not tolerant to these concoctions.
