What You Can Do In Metro Manila During The Christmas Season

If you are in Metro Manila, this Christmas Season, there are some things that you can do to amuse the family or the children.

Visit Ocean Park in Ermita, Manila. The Manila Ocean Park is where you will see various kinds of aquatic species that can be found in the seas. They have a wide variety of jellyfish, various varieties of fishes, stingrays and even a shark inside the glass tanks. They also have penguins that live in an artificial snowy area. They even have a show for the kids to enjoy.

Visit the Ayala Triangle Light Show in Makati, Metro Manila. The lights of the Ayala Triangle are usually lit up at night. And during the weekends they have music to compliment the light show. There is no fee to view the lights and for the young ones to take photos of their memories on their visit.

If you want to stay for a few days or longer in the city, there are several hotels and condotels that offer lodging and dining services for their clients. It is best to book for reservation so that you can get the room and spot you like for your stay. Moving around the metro can be done by train, bus, taxi, Grab, or jeepney, pedicab, or tricycle in some areas where they are allowed. If you decide to take the train, prepare for walking and climbing stairs. The local train station is called MRT and LRT and you need to climb stairs to use them. The PNR, however, does not have stairs because it's on the ground. However, this is an old train and may not be as clean as the MRT and LRT. Since there is a pandemic, prepare also for long lines to get to the train. Local buses can also help you get around the city and the fare varies from one destination to another. However, these days, some provincial buses are still not allowed to enter the city. If you are coming from the province you need to drive or rent a car or ride, especially if you want to travel to the city with family, friends, associates or co-workers. 

Dine, eat and enjoy. There are various restaurants and food shops where you can eat and treat the family if you go to Manila for the Christmas season. Food shops, restaurants, food stalls, and other diners can be found all over the city for your preferred cuisine. Prices of food and service vary. You can have them cheap, moderately cheap and expensive if you please. Metro Manila is home to several malls where you can find several food shops and restaurants. You can also find fine dining experience in malls and also hotels all over the city. If you are looking for a change in your regular meals, you can try and sample other meals sold in the market, malls, restaurants and other food shops around town. Or, check-in a hotel where you can dine with your loved ones in the hotel restaurant, buy take out food or cook your own meals from ingredients bought from the local market.
